Clara 38kV substation is a new substation constructed on a green field site in Clara, Co. Offaly. It was funded by ESB Networks current (2007-2010) € 2.5 billion upgrade of the countries electrical infrastructure.
Kirby Power, a division of Kirby Group, is an ESB Networks approved contractor and have constructed numerous substations under ESBN framework contracts to date.
Kirby Power completed construction of Clara 38kv Substation in October 2007.

Ø Insulation Resistance testing on all MV equipment, MV cabling, CT & VT secondary circuits and on all tripping and protection circuits.

Ø Full Pre-commissioning in compliance with ESBN pre-commissioning procedures
